World Youth Day: Spain 2011
Bookings now being taken for World Youth Day 2011 Preparations are well advanced for World Youth Day 2011, which will take place in Madrid, Spain. The Southwark contingent is being organised by the Southwark Catholic Youth Service (SCYS). The dates have been confirmed and Southwark will travel out on 14th and return on 22nd August. The Holy Father will be welcomed by young people from around the world on 18th and will end his visit with Mass on 22nd August. CONSTITUTION
1. NAME
2. OBJECTS
a. To benefit the young people of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church and other youths in the immediate surrounding area by assisting them to build and preserve their faith and by providing educational and recreational facilities.
b.To share information, knowledge and skills amongst youths on the issues that directly concern them.
c. To provide a common forum for the youths to express their ideas, thoughts and feelings and hence help them to explore their talents and capacities.
d. To enable youths to identify their concerns, interests and priorities and to seek appropriate solutions.
e. To establish harmony between the youths and other members of society by promoting understanding and partnership.
f. To enable youths to include their agenda and priorities in the policies governing the development of the community and also to mobilize them as a pressure group to raise voice for their benefit and development.
g. To help them in their integral formation and development through counseling services.
h. To foster a bond of unity among them, given the multicultural nature of the community.
i. To promote racial harmony within the community and to positively work against all forms of racism and discrimination within it. OLACY shall have the power to affiliate to local Community people whose objects may be of benefit to young people.
3. EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES
The OLACY aims to represent all young people within Deptford and immediate surrounding areas inclusive of gender, ethnic background, disability, religion and sexuality.
4. MEMBERSHIP.
Membership shall be open to all young people between the ages of 8 – 18 years irrespective of nationality, race, colour, political or religious belief, or sexual orientation or ability. Membership shall be of two kinds:

The level of subscriptions payable to both categories of members shall be determined by the Management Committee (here in after called 'the Committee').
